History of the Rules of Procedure of Parliament

History of the Rules of Procedure of Parliament Article 75(1) (a) of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh provides that the Procedure of Parliament shall be regulated by Rules of Procedure made by it, and until such rules are made, the Procedure of Parliament shall be regulated by Rules of Procedure made by the President. Parliament adopted its own Rules of Procedure on July 22, 1974 . After change over from Parliamentary to Presidential system of Government through constitutional amendment, these rules have since been amended on seven occasions. Thereafter, Parliamentary system was revived through the Constitution (Twelfth Amendment) Act, 1991. For this purpose the Committee on Rules of Procedure set up by Parliament on November 5, 1991 with the Speaker as its Chairman, held nine meetings from December 7, 1991 to January 19, 1992 and prepared a report which recommended some amendments to the previous Rules of Procedure under Rule 265(1) of the said Rules, the

Where to find laws of Bangladesh

Bangladesh Code is published with all the laws of Bangladesh. It is up to date till 2007. You can buy the 38 volume set with only 16,000 BDT and onwards. If you don't have enough money to buy the set, you can still have the access to it. Just visit this url: www.minlaw.gov.bd You will find a link to the Bangladesh Code on the first page.

Maxims of Equity

Maxims of Equity 1. EQUITY WILL NOT SUFFER A WRONG TO BE WITHOUT A REMEDY Meaning Where there is a right there is a remedy. This idea is expressed in the Latin Maxim ubi jus ibi remedium . It means that no wrong should go unredressed if it is capable of being remedied by courts. This maxim indicates the width of the scope and the basis of on which the structure of equity rests. This maxim imports that where the common law confers a right, it gives also a remedy or right of action for interference with or infringement of that right. Application and cases In Ashby v. White , wherein a qualified voter was not allowed to vote and who therefore sued the returning officer, it was held that if the law gives a man a right, he must have a means to maintain it, and a remedy, if he is injured in the enjoyment of it. In cases where some document was with the defendant and it was necessary for the plaintiff to obtain its discovery or production, a recourse to the Chancery Courts
